At Clyde Bergemann (formerly Bachmann Industries, Inc.) I was a part of a team that executed projects once handed off from the Sales Department to the Engineering Department. My primary job was to create drawing packages with bills of materials. I also prepared installation, operation and maintenance manuals, among other project specific documents. My time there gave me the oppotunity to progress with my AutoCAD skills. But most notable, I gained great knowlege and skill using Inventor 3D modeling CAD software. Projects were, more often than not, fast turn around. This required me to use and develop 3D models which were quick and efficient to modify. In turn, our models allowed us to create and revise our fabrication drawing packages swiftly. My project team worked on very diverse types of equipment. On any given day, we would work on everything from fabric or metal expansion joints, intricate and complicated machinery, to large fabricated steel structures, to piping layouts. The unpredictable environment we worked in taught me flexibility, how to prioritize and how to work efficiently with team members.

As my first full time job out of college, I learned how to use AutoCAD to create 2D layout drawings to submit to our customers for their review. I was also introduced to using AutoCAD to created simple fabrication drawings. This full time job at Hussey Seating Company was preceded by summer jobs in their wood shop, their metal shop and their drafting department. As a summer manufacturing associate in the wood and metal shop, I was exposed to the manufacturing end of of a business. This opportunity gave me insight as to what it takes to build what I would later be putting on paper drawings.
