  The Industry Specialist Section play key roles in providing consultation to both the Banks’s top management and staffs of all level on viable agriculture practices, latest agriculture development, emerging disease in agriculture industry, government governing policy and regulation on agriculture, agriculture sector economic situation and conducting technical evaluation on agriculture loans. The agriculture sectors covered by the sections are crop, livestock, fishery and agrobase. The efforts had led to lower non-performing loans due to non-viable agriculture technical farming parameters. 1. Research and Development • To lead the team in conducting viability studies on agriculture sub-sectors that have potential to be finance by the Bank’s. • To lead the team in conducting agriculture industry forecasting. The research will be used by Bank’s management as a guide in pre determining financing risk and exposure. • To lead the team in conducting impact studies on agriculture sub-sector financed by the Bank’s that being affected by disease. Example of disease that being studied are Tilapia Lake Virus in tilapia farming sub-sector, Avian Influenza virus in chicken farming sub-sector and Haemorrhagic Septicaemia in ruminant farming sub-sector. 2. Internal Training • To conduct training to Bank’s Staff at all level on viable agriculture practices or parameters in series of road show. To enhance their abilities in evaluating technical aspects on agriculture projects financing. • Developed and update agriculture technical parameters manual periodically for bank wide reference. 3. Consultation and advisory • Provide consultation and advisory to the bank’s top management and staff when need arises on agriculture projects. • Conduct evaluation on agriculture technical farming parameters on new financing proposal and on failed projects.
