Doug and I worked on the Datalink Interface Unit regression testing and GEM DO-178B certification. On both tasks, he ensured that the deliverables were accurate and to the expectation of the customers. He went beyond expectations with the GEM DO-178B certification project and produced a very detailed statistical spreadsheet, which was eventually used to track and provide estimate on completion of the project. Without being able to gather and analyze the various metrics, the project completion date and progress were only very rough guesstimates. He addressed those issues on his own accord.

I've had the privilege to work with Doug both as a colleague and as his manager. I have seen first-hand Doug's ability to develop software through every phase from requirements analysis, design, coding and testing. While working the JPALS program, Doug developed an embedded C application that mimicked Rockwell's software defined radio. This software was instrumental in our abilities to test and verify our group's datalink interface unit (DIU) software. Additionally, Doug demonstrated sound judgement and excellent leadership skills when executing all required peer reviews and design/testing activities.
