      Ministry of Water and Environment is an executive body of the Government of the Republic of Uganda, with the overall responsibility of the development, managing & regulating Water and Environment resources in the country. The Ministry is divided into 03 Directorates, i.e.: for Environmental Affairs, Water Development, and Water Resources Management. I am attached to the Directorate of Water Development. This Directorate is divided into 03 Departments, i.e.: Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Services, Water Utility Regulation, Water for Production, & Rural Water Supply and Sanitation. I serve as an Engineer under Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Services Department. The Ministry of Water and Environment through its Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Services Department, undertakes projects to increase the service coverage in the urban areas within the country. As an Engineer in this Department, I provide technical back up to the design and implementation of these water supply and Sanitation programmes and projects, i.e.: • Provide technical advice & assistance to stakeholders on all stages of the development of water supply systems; • Work directly with water supply and sanitation systems developers to offer technical backup; • Collect and analyze data, design and supervise works for water supply and sanitation systems; • Assist the senior engineer in the capacity building of communities and District Local Government staff and units regarding the implementation, usage and maintenance of the water and sewerage systems; • Monitor the performance of water and sanitation facilities in District Local Governments, and advise the Senior Engineer on relevant support actions. -And various other roles as assigned to me by my Supervisors. Develop the price Bid rates and the technical data sheets from the quotations of the selected suppliers and subcontractors. • File these technical and financial requirements and cross check the entire document to be offered. • Submit and attend the bid closing meetings and follow up on the offer. • And finally, as assigned by my line manager, participate in contract negotiation and prepare documents for the contract to be signed.       The sustainability program is a Makerere University and Bangor University (Wales) initiative that enhances students to take the lead in promoting sustainability at their university and the wider community through shared learning and engaging in practical solutions.
