I worked with Doug for over 5 years at Dynamic Animation Systems. I found great leadership qualities in him. He's a great motivator and technically proficient in what he does. He has the ability to maintain a balance between company goals and employee needs. Nevertheless he is a very experienced IT professional, he never hesitated to appreciate new ideas or suggestions from others. He was always very helpful and wise in offering solutions. He knows how to manage time and workforce in-order to accomplish the goal. He respects everyone and have a huge respect from everyone. A great manager, a great mentor and above all a great human being, that's what Doug Walker is.

While working at Atomic Games Doug directly managed the software development teams to ensure we met our delivery milestones and shipped high quality products. Doug not only had the technical and management skills to lead the teams to success but had a way of coaching, encouraging cooperation and always leading my example. His posititve demeanor and infectious laugh always brightened the spirits of the team members during stressful crunch time situations. I highly recommend Doug as a Director of Software Development or any similar role and would welcome the opportunity to work with him again!!

I was responsible for the operations of the Games Technology Division at Applied Microsystems. The division was responsible for the Optical Disk emulation technology used by both the NINTENDO GAMECUBE and the Microsoft Xbox development kits. I was responsible for the management and technical direction of up to four simultaneous (two development and two R&D) projects utilizing over thirty hardware and software engineers plus various external contractors. I reported directly to the executive management of the company and was responsible for advocating the needs and status of our group. Sales of these two products generated approximately eight million dollars of revenue for the company over the last two quarters I was there which generated a significant profit for our group.

My duties included project budgeting and scheduling, primary communications contact with the publisher, personnel management of 30+ programmers/artists/designers/testers, technical direction, external contractor management, system administration, new business development, and contract negotiations. Prior to working at Atomic full-time (during 93-95) I was involved with the two prior World at War titles, Operation Crusader and Stalingrad, as an AI programmer.
