Sep 2019 - Dec 2022
While continuing to build market share in CPG and Retail Carrot as Vice President of Sales, Bolthouse promoted Doug to General Manager for its Fresh Logistics Facility in Chicago to address new pandemic challenges in its supply chain and redefine the value proposition for the facility. Leveraging his change management and business transformation experience building high-performing cultures, Doug built a culture and environment where employees could develop and grow. He redefined expectations and accountability and empowered the team with decision making responsibility, and significantly improved operating efficiency, team morale, and retention (reduced attrition), resulting in improved service levels and a 30% reduction in labor cost in the first six months. Doug led a cross-functional team to reengineer inbound freight activity, improve facility workflow, and drive multi-million dollar savings for Bolthouse and long-term value for its clients. Described as a “modern leader” by his peers, Doug understands that cost savings isn't the only performance indicator clients are seeking. Doug also improved communications and scorecarding by showcasing ESG opportunities through Fresh Logistics. In doing so, Bolthouse and its clients were able to report millions of gallons in fuel saved, resulting in a reduction of 40,000 metric tons of CO2E in the environment in 2021. Show less
