With over 25 years in the industry, Doug’s logistics organization has developed into a world class leader in global custom supply chain management. The Dawson Group includes Dawson Logistics, Dawson Property Holdings, and Dawson Management Services. Doug’s logistics experience began as a collegiate intern for United Parcel Service. After graduation, Doug expanded on his logistics experience as he spent several years with RPS and FedEx in operations and business development. Doug was then recruited by a regional logistics provider to provide strategic consulting services; in addition to designing and launching a small parcel delivery platform with bulk drop ship functionality. In tandem, Doug developed a national retail distribution model for a start-up, Hawaiian based, organic chocolate company. Upon completion of that project, Doug founded Dawson Logistics. The original business model, which still exists today, is to provide custom supply chain / logistics solutions to improve efficiency, visibility and reduce overall expense. The company’s exponential growth resulted in the recent formation of The Dawson Group, a holding company which encompasses all of the organization’s diverse offerings. The company has been named one of the fastest growing private companies in America six times by Inc. Magazine. Doug serves on a number of industry advisory councils. He is a member of the Distribution and Logistics Professionals, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, National Association of Distinguished Professionals, and is a founding member of the Specialty Pharmacy Association of America.
