I have collaborated with Doug for a number of years in developing a Lean culture of continuous improvement in his organization. He epitomizes what I would consider a Lean leader...constantly striving to improve himself, and engaging and challenging the workforce to continually improve company processes. And personnaly, by challenging me and being an invaluable sounding board, which has been a gift that I can never come close to repaying. In our monthly Lean Peer Group meetings, Doug is more of a co-facilitator than a member by not only sharing his expertise, but by engaging the other Group members in, at times, some difficult discussions where looking in the mirror is required. This ability multiplies Doug's effectiveness. I have the utmost respect for Doug and what he does at Tilley, and look forward to future collaboration which always makes me smarter.

It has been great to work with Doug at Tilley Distribution in driving change from newly acquired businesses. Doug has shown exceptional skill in leading change through a lean multifunctional environment where legacy businesses were entrenched in old ways. His ability to ask questions and understand the root of the legacy behaviors allowed him to develop and lead a transition plan for supply chain activities towards common and best practices while still maintaining a high level of respect throughout all levels of the organization.
