Puerto Rican Institute for Arts and Advocacy Inc. (PRIAA) is a non profit organization that deals with the history and tradition of the Island Puerto Rico. It began as a family owned organization founded by Lydia Perez, my mother. I have volunteered and participated here since a very young age, performing in the traditional musical group Yoruba 2 (a for profit performance group under PRIAA), and performing secretarial duties as well as participating in promotional activities and… Show more Puerto Rican Institute for Arts and Advocacy Inc. (PRIAA) is a non profit organization that deals with the history and tradition of the Island Puerto Rico. It began as a family owned organization founded by Lydia Perez, my mother. I have volunteered and participated here since a very young age, performing in the traditional musical group Yoruba 2 (a for profit performance group under PRIAA), and performing secretarial duties as well as participating in promotional activities and events. Upon graduation of Bryant University in 2012, I was given the position of Cultural Director. This entails creating presentations and presenting them to potential partners to secure grants and contracts for our Arts Education program, where we travel to different schools with high hispanic population levels and educate children about the Puerto Rican culture and heritage.
