• Responsible for covering a daily beat in southern Ocean County, NJ, which includes the following towns: Long Beach Island (comprised of six separate municipalities); Stafford Township, Barnegat Township, Little Egg Harbor Township and Tuckerton. Also covering a daily beat in Galloway Township, Absecon and Port Republic in Atlantic County.• Coverage on these beats include police/crime, collective bargaining and police union issues, local government, land use, school system, beach replenishment, weather, real estate trends, state-level politics, governmental policy and human interest enterprise/feature stories. • Responsible for covering the 9th Legislative District and governor’s office. • In addition to the towns on my beat, I also cover the Ocean County Criminal Court system, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and Prosecutor’s Office. • I am also responsible for completing OPRA/FOIA requests to collect information that is pertinent to my assignments. • Responsible for filing two to three daily news stories. Also responsible for filing weekend enterprise stories each week. I also select and prepare an A1 package for the Sunday edition several times each month and watchdog pieces. • Responsible for filing daily breaking news web posts to the Press of Atlantic City website. • On a regular basis, I am also responsible for shooting my own photographs and video to accompany my articles. • Responsible for maintaining a Twitter and Facebook account to post breaking news.
