    • Mu Kappa Consultant
      • Jul 2019 - Present

I have passed the director role to Tammy Sharp (a colleague in Barnabas International) and am now broadening my shepherding ministry to whole families. My main goal is to encourage and strengthen missionary families who are going through significant transition in their lives. I still focus on MKs and TCKs (Third Culture Kids) who are navigating the transition from growing up overseas to life in North America. I am also involved in training MK caregivers and mission agencies related to their member care. Show less

Mu Kappa (Greek letters for MK) is a fraternal organization for Missionary Kids on college campuses across the country. I am based at Cedarville University, but I travel to other colleges and meet with MKs and faculty/staff advisors to assist them with their ministry to MKs and international students on their campuses.

I began in 1984 as a Resident Director in Keithley Hall for three years while I worked on my master's degree at the Seminary. In 1987 I moved into the Associate Dean role and was there for seven more years. I was Director of Residence Life and Director of Student Activities (wore several hats back then!). It was an enjoyable time and I have many friends from those days--both faculty/staff and students.
