Japanese owned subsidiary manufacturing and exporting hazardous chemicals to global markets with turnover of £30m purchased from ICI in 2002. Key areas and achievements: • responsible for all aspects of finance and group reporting and related operations (IT and HR) • providing commercial and strategic support to Directors and Senior Team -involved in risk analysis of new commercial projects and developing pricing models with detailed sensitivity analysis • significant exposure to all aspects of global trade and foreign currency exposure • involved in setting company KPIs and directly responsible for finance related KPIs. • set up detailed models on product costing including currency management • Project managed set up of systems in Bangkok based fellow subsidiary, included setting up new computerised systems to cover manufacturing and distribution processes as well as accounting requirements • Project managed sale of Defence Business which had also been acquired by Inabata with Grant Thornton, responsible for data room as well as providing detailed projections

ICI subsidiary with chemical and defence manufacturing businesses with a turnover more than £30m and environmental team which ICI were seeking to divest Key areas and achievements: • responsible for all aspects of finance, office administration, HR and IT for three divisions of the company – Chemicals, Defence and Environmental Services • responsible for all reporting to both senior team and Board in an international multi-currency environment including advising on successful hedging of foreign currency transactions • assisted new Managing Director with preparing business plans to secure ICI funding to run businesses as SMEs within ICI following failure to sell initially • worked with central ICI Mergers and Acquisitions team on business sale activity • back up for commercial function with modelling for both businesses, including detailed involvement with Ministry of Defence contracts • minimised US dumping duty including audit visit from USD department of trade • responsible for upgrading complete system solution which covered factory and sales processes as well as accounting, due to business being in hazardous goods market • worked with engineering team on costs and accruals
