  ​ Dr. Donna Hargrove was born in Augusta, Georgia and attended the University of Georgia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1980. After changing from a career in horticulture, she attended Georgia State University, for post baccalaureate, completing nutrition and pre medical courses and was accepted into medical school at The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she received her medical degree in 1996. She completed a traditional medical internship at Suncoast Hospital, Largo, Florida in 1997, and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency training at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2001. During her residency she received awards in research and pathology and was honored as outstanding resident of the year in her junior year and served as Administrative Chief Resident Physician her senior year. Dr. Hargrove is a Board Certified Ob/Gyn, a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is an active member of the Florida Obstetrics and Gynecology Society and the Florida Medical Association. Dr. Hargrove has a strong interest in health and wellness as it applies to nutrition and food choices. She has extensive training in nutrition and is the nutrition editor for her culinary and educational website, www.nutritionhealthnet.com, along with her husband Bren Ankrum, who is the culinary editor. Dr. Hargrove has been trained in hormone imbalances and is recognized as a leading expert physician in Pinellas county Florida for bio-identical hormone pellet therapy involving estrogen and testosterone. Dr. Hargrove is also a member of the American Academy of Procedural Medicine and The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine with certifications in laser aesthetic procedures, Botox/Xeomin injections and collagen fillers.
