I work with a number of customers with disabilities to find and train them into employment. I support the client and advise them on the different types of work and training available to them, help them with their CV and prepare them for interview. I contact and negotiate placements with employers. Once a client has a placement I provide 1-2-1 job coaching and support at work and teach them how to travel independently in their role. I inform clients what effect paid employment may have on their benefits and advise employers on the Equality Act and how best to deal with disciplinary actions. Within my role I specialise with Transition and NEETS and in addition to my job role helped to set up a number of projects in this area. The projects have ranged from setting up the first group job club to help reduce travel costs for ESO’s and help provide social and peer support from the group of clients. These have been very successful and run in over 8 different locations. This helped develop the concept of a Saturday job club for 16-24year olds which I oversee in my local area and developed easy read literature and information sheets for. As part of my progressions I have set up a new supported traineeship with a local college where I have had to supervise four college staff, negotiate placements, ensure support stays within the allocated budget and provide advice and guidance to both parties.I develop and present training days for other professionals on Supported Employment and Job coaching, Confidence with Clients, developing easy read resources and Help aids at work. I also deliver work preparation courses to our customers. Show less
