I was the general manager for two golf course near Savannah Georgia. One was a Donald Ross design municipal course, the other was a semi-private course with a full complement of restaurant, bar and banquet facilities. I was responsible for gathering and writing all required documents and budgets for the company and the City of Savannah in order to finalize the management contract for the company. I oversaw the reconstruction/revitalization of Bacon Park Golf Course. Bacon Park was originally opened in 1926, designed by the legendary Donald Ross. This project encompassed all facets of course construction. We moved over 80,000 yards of dirt, planted over 200 hundred trees, installed a new irrigation system along with a new pump station. Merchandised golf pro shop and food and beverage operations. Worked in conjunction with the First Tee of Savannah. Organized and promoted golf tournaments and outings for both golf courses.
