Responsible for ensuring compliance with government regulations and negotiating modifications.-Testified before U.S. Senate Finance Committee on behalf of Virginia Chemicals (VCI) and a chemical manufacturers association (SOCMA). As a result of testimony, Congress deleted "joint and several liability" requirements from "Superfund" legislation, saving Celanese over $350,000 annually.-Utilized knowledge of EPA system to secure delay in litigation pending review of unnecessarily restrictive regulations. This prevented closure of VCI plants with sales of $60 million.-Used novel arguments before interagency panel to press for continued use of chlorofluorocarbon propellant in VCl's aerosol pesticides. Secured EPA exemption allowing VCI to continue manufacturing food pesticide aerosols systems with annual sales of over $2.5 million.-Presented arguments before U.S. International Trade Commission and other executive branch departments. Personally secured continued tariff protection for hydrosulfites, one of VCl's most profitable products.
