"I have worked with Dr. Donald Piland for 5+ years while I was employeed at both Black River Medical Center and at Cedargate Nursing home. He has always been fair, honest and knowledgable regarding the facilities business practice. He is always friendly and takes the time to stop and speak to anyone that needs him. As a physician Dr. Piland and his staff are all I could hope for in a medical practitioner. He has been my primary care physician for several years now and has always provided the absolute best care, and I believe, best advice and treatment during every visit and for every issue. If you are looking for a doctor whose medical knowledge is encyclopedic, treats the whole person, and takes the time to be caring even while maintaing a very efficient office, then Dr. Piland is someone you should consider visiting, you will not be disappointed.

Donald is an outstanding patient-oriented caring physician. I have known him professionally and personally for over 20 years. He was among a group of physicians and a silver-tongued recruiter that convinced me to move from Texas to Missouri.Donald is involved in his community as well as his medical practice. I would recommend him to anyone, anywhere.

Nov 2007 - Present
In November of 2007 I moved to Physicians Park Primary Care where we formed a now 7 member primary care group which provides to care to Southeast Missouri residents. I currently admit patients to both Black River Medical Center and also Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. I have practiced General Internal Medicine with an interest in Critical Care Medicine and have a busy and interesting GI Endoscopy Practice as well. I have served, over the years, as Chief of Staff at PBRMC for 8 of my 31 years in Poplar Bluff as well as serving as Chief of Staff at Black River Medical Center for another 2 years. Show less

Internal Medicine Physician
-
Apr 1986 - Nov 2007
During this time period I was self employed in a single-physician office, sharing overhead with some 20 physicians--a group we built over the years and with whom, practice was interesting and fun. My practice then was the same as it is now, general internal medicine with an interest in critical care and with a busy GI endoscopy practice. As medicine practice changed, it became clear that it would be in my best interest to join a formal primary care group--Physicians Park Primary Care. I did so and relocated to a new building with a new address--same practice, though. Show less
