    • Senior Strategist, Digital Engagement - Stratège en chef, l'engagement numérique
      • Jul 2021 - May 2023

As Senior Strategist, Digital Engagement, I undertook the mission to reform the delivery of justice services in response to the challenges highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It had become evident that for many current court users, the law is too slow, obtuse, and expensive, leading to limited accessibility in practical terms. While the principles of our justice system are solid and date back 800 years, our service delivery processes needed a modern approach. My role involved engaging with Indigenous, justice, and community partners to identify gaps in the existing interactions and develop programs to provide non-legal advice and support for Indigenous persons accused of criminal offenses. Additionally, I collaborated with justice, health, and community partners to rethink the delivery of services to justice-involved persons dealing with behavioral health issues. I also led projects with the Department of Justice and Heads of Court Administration to develop comprehensive talent strategies to attract and retain top talent. My goal was to set out on a self-sustaining path of transformational reform, which involved a five-step process. Firstly, I listened and collected ideas from those on the front-lines across the whole service ecosystem. Secondly, I placed the client at the center of the service ecosystem and passed those ideas through a client-centric lens, ensuring that processes are purpose-driven. Thirdly, I identified improved service delivery models. Fourthly, I identified the talent profiles needed to support the new service delivery, and finally, I identified the technologies to support collaboration and ease of access. Through my efforts, I aimed to make the justice system more accessible, efficient, and affordable for all users, and to create a lasting impact on the delivery of justice services. Show less
