Artist Relations As an Artist Relations manager, I was tasked to make sure the artist is satisfied in working for the company. To do this, I organized services for the artists I was responsible for, and performed various tasks to ensure the artists knew that they where valuable assets of the company. In this industry, companies reward artists with anything they desire, particularly if an act attains a gold record. As a A&R, I maintained constant communication with the artist, determining and solving possible conflicts or problems between the artist and the company before the contract goes sour. Other tasks I was asked to do, included coordinating with the various departments of the company, planning promotional events for concerts, tours, or the artist’s upcoming CD releases. I was also responsible for arranging interviews and exposures in TV or radio, working closely with Publicist. As a spokesperson for the record company, I also gave suggestions to the artists related to their performance on stage. My most valuable asset was my ability to, establish a genuine friendship with the artist, while acting as the record label’s representative. I have remained friends with artists, even after they have moved to other labels. Show less
