I am the Senior Quality Control Engineer for Tutor-Perini's LA Metro's Division 20 Portal Widening & Turnback Facility Project . This expansion project is a plan for better rail service on the Metro B Line (Red) and D Line (Purple), which includes upgrading LA Metro's Division 20 rail yard. We are widening a rail tunnel south of the US-101 (Hollywood) Freeway, building a new turnback facility, and readjusting rail storage tracks. My responsibilities for the Port of Long Beach include: *Verification of construction activities in accordance with project plans, specifications, approved submittals, change orders, & various code requirements. *Supervise, coordinate, & track contractor activities pertaining to Request for Annual Contract Services (RACS); which includes underground wet-utilities, concrete wharf repairs, asphalt paving, & construction equipment rental(s) contracts. *Review progress payment requests from contractors for verification of quantities & progress of work in accordance with agreed schedule of values. *Prepare Daily Field Reports in Unifier to document Contractor's daily construction activities. *Document & review Contractor Time & Material work including labor, equipment, & materials. *Schedule & coordinate testing labs to meet construction project requirements & schedules. *Supervise & provide orientation to testing lab inspectors & technicians. *Review testing lab reports, contracts, & invoices for accuracy. *Monitor & track approved lab authorizations & budgets. *Prepare cost estimates & progress of work as needed for Construction Managgers, engineers, & Schedulers. *Coordinate field activities with contractors, Port of Long Beach tenants, testing lab(s), various stakeholders, & agencies. *Attend weekly construction meetings & provide input on status of work, potential delays, & current issues. *Mentor/train new POLB Inspectors on POLB policies, procedures, & usage of Unifier. *Provide Constructability reviews on an as-needed basis for various future projects.
