I am a fourth year PhD student in the lab of Dr. Cherrington at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. The focus of our lab is defining the alterations in xenobiotic transporters induced by the progressive liver disease, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), as well as understanding the pharmacologic outcomes associated with said changes. My research interests include elucidating the mechanisms which lead to the above-mentioned transporter changes. Specifically, my aim is to identify the cause behind the mislocalization of multidrug resistance associated protein-2 (Mrp2) in NASH. This is a well-established consequence of NASH, however, the mechanism unknown. Using liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS)-based methods, I hope to understand how this process occurs and further define how contributes to adverse drug reactions. Show less
