Dominic was invaluable, finding the right mix of humour and downright pragmatism in a challenging, multi-site, multi-system environment with a host of differing stakeholders, most of whom only had their own agendas in mind. I'd hire him at the drop of a hat.
Jan Pritchard
Dominic is one of those rare IT guys that has the patience to explain something thoroughly so whilst he solves your immediate problem he also leaves you with the skills to solve the same problem again. He does this all with a great sense of humor which makes him eminently likable.

CH&Co Group Ltd is a catering and events company with operations in both the private and public sector and with an annual turnover of approximately 200m. CH&Co Group operate in various businesses throughout the UK and which include numerous prestigious clients such as the Royal Palaces, ZSL London Zoo, private members clubs and institutions. I was employed as part of a Board initiated program to upgrade the network infrastructure, improve the departments processes and procedures and improve the perception of the I.T. Department throughout the business. My role required me to liaise between the business, its clients and suppliers and project manage the technical requirements for all client site mobilisations as well as all medium to long term IT projects across the 400 existing sites. This meant collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels to ensure that all of the agreed aims, timescales were achieved within budget. During this time I was also responsible for ensuring PCI DSS Compliance across the Group. Being the public face of the I.T. Department I was also tasked with resolving any complaints which arose via the Service Desk. In addition to my ongoing role I was later entrusted with managing the Service Desk team on a day to day basis during and after a company merger. This meant ensuring adequate cover at all times, monitoring staff workloads, SLA & KPI monitoring, providing training where required, heading up weekly team meetings, staff 1-2-1's and producing weekly/monthly reports. IT Manager for Adventis Group
-
May 2008 - Jul 2012
Adventis Group Plc provided communication services to the property, healthcare, technology, and financial services industries. I was initially employed to upgrade and unify the Beaconsfield site’s IT infrastructure. As the Group continued to grow I was occupied with ever-increasing amounts of work. At which point I formed and centralised an IT Department, removing the need for the multitude of external IT support companies and instead providing in-house support to all the disparate subsidiaries and domains across the various sites. I worked closely with the stakeholders of each subsidiary to upgrade and consolidate the IT Infrastructure while implementing Group policies and procedures. My responsibilities include: * Managing the Helpdesk and its 2 members of staff. * Keeping senior management of each subsidiary informed of all operations. * Supporting all client computers, both Mac and PC (XP, Vista, Win7 & OSX). * Ultimate responsibility for the IT issues across 3 separate Microsoft Windows domains and 4 physical sites. * Management of the telecoms and physical security systems. * Daily operation and maintenance of all physical and virtual servers: Windows 2003/2008 R2 (AD, DNS, DHCP, VPN), Exchange 2003/2010, BES. * Daily operation and maintenance of all network equipment including VLAN’d Linksys switches, Firewalls (SonicWALL, Watchguard). * Daily operation and maintenance of all software: Anti-virus (Trend, Sophos), Email Archiving Solutions, Backup Exec. * Yearly budgetary planning for hardware/software and third party services. * Guidance of procurement processes and developing relationships with existing suppliers. * Implementing and updating policies and procedures (inc. DR and BCP Plans) Show less
