A varied role in a property environment, ranging from assisting the management accountant by completing a set of accounts on a monthly basis, to supporting the legal team via monitoring a vast amount of tenants: issuing LBA’s when required. Posting journals, asset depreciation, wages reconciliation, prepayment and accrual movement, VAT reconciliation all fall under the monthly tasks I preform when completing the set of accounts. Required to understand and analyse the accounts, to provide an explanation to the finance director as to why the budgeted costs may vary to actual. Efficiently utilising complex Excel functions like Vlookups to consolidate the balance sheet and P&L of the company. Organisation and attention to detail is required when recharging alternative parts of the group for using the aviation services provided. Daily tasks insist of bank posting and reconciliation. Involvement in month end by running reports: using excel skills such as subtotals to extract the relevant information regarding the portfolios debtors on a monthly basis. I implement pivot tables and VLOOKUP's within excel to monitor legal cases and perform utility reconciliation. Perform service charge reconciliation at year end, across the thousands of tenants, utilising macros. Interpersonal skills are required to liaise with the large mass tenants I communicate with on a daily basis. Credit control, aspect of my work involves raising monthly rental invoices, ensuring the payment of rent is received on time; building a strong relationship with tenants assists with this. Managing my time and workload is important as I have varying deadlines required by two line managers in different departments. Show less

Within my first few months at the Hakim Group, I became accustomed with the way they operated within sage. Furthermore, I consistently implemented complex Excel formulas while completing VAT returns. I applied a warm hearted nature to create a harmonious relationship with the multiple practices we owned and fellow office workers; the company has stressed that they had nothing but praise for my work ethic and are more than happy to put forward an outstanding reference. Daily duties include the processing of invoices; attention to detail is essential. Adaptability skills were key in ensuring I became familiar with the accounting property software Qube and APB; the thorough analysation of property records within Qube is crucial to ensure the continuous expansion of the business. Certain aspects of my work experience at Wallwork Nelson & Johnson included using problem solving skills, to amend a customers trial balance. As well as this, I employed imperative IT skills to become familiar with the software IRIS and Sage. I performed a variety of different tasks at Wallwork Nelson & Johnson such as wage analysis and lead write ups and therefore had to be well organised in order to manage and maintain a high workload. At Booths I was a part-time store assistant working within all aspects of the retail market, where versatility and flexibility were key aspects of my job. I was trained to work on a till where communication skills were pivotal. Booths prioritise exceptional customer service; my teamwork skills improved as a result of having to work under pressure, as a team, to keep the shop shelves looking pristine. I regularly had to use my initiative when setbacks occurred in order to overcome problems. During my time at Steris PLC I was a part of a tightly knit team working within the healthcare industry. I was required to obtain efficient organisation skills to revise technical files. Furthermore, my writing skills were key when it came to requiring certificates of analysis, compliance and conformity when communicating with suppliers overseas via email. I had to pay attention to detail when minimising faults and analysing customer complaints. Also, I gained valuable experience of meeting deadlines within a professional workplace when working on the project of a new product. Show less

While working on the farm I enhanced my ability to work independently as a majority of the tasks I underwent were completed alone. Day to day tasks included transporting animals and maintaining machinery, the skills I have been able to transfer from this are effective time management skills and a willingness to work flexibly. Throughout the brief time I spent at Howick for my work experience, I witnessed my communication skills improve massively, as I adopted the tone and manner of my voice depending on whether I was speaking to a pupil or a fellow employee. I assisted within maintaining effective discipline skills within the working environment and helped in organising well planned lesson plans.
