Throughout my tenure I have taught middle and high school students a number of necessary skills, including improvisational acting, performance, self direction, mime and puppetry concepts in addition to performing musical accompaniments for improvised musicals. Moreover, I converted courses to virtual during Covid-19 pandemic. I currently oversee comprehensive troupe operations, including member casting, training, production, and budget management. I routinely incorporate a variety of coaching and training programs designed to strengthen short and long form improvisation. Moreover, I collaborate with a Musical Director and Student Activities to produce and schedule performances. Key accomplishments include: - Producing nine unique shows per year, including improvised musicals, scenes, audience participation, dancing, and narrated stories. - Successfully growing average show attendance from 200 to 380 in my eight years. - Co-Producing with other colleges to create off-campus performing opportunities for students. - Enhancing learning experience, leveraging industry contacts to bring in highly respected professionals to perform their craft and support learning activities. - Capitalizing on robust social media and internet presence to increase attendance and revenue for online classes and shows. In this role, I teach a variety of courses, specializing in improv performance abilities, mime, puppetry, physicality, narration, and characterization. I educate students to successfully perform in the styles of Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Stephen King, Film, Noir, Romantic Comedies, Charales Dickens, among others. Additionally, I utilize midterm and year-end assessments analyze student performance. Significant contributions include: - Conceptualizing curriculum for core class program, solidifying the school’s foundation. - Creating and producing original shows, increasing audience size and school revenue. - Designing and building custom theatre with professional sound and light boards, as well as seating for 45. - Creating an innovative method of live editing online performances with numbers performers spread across multiple locations.
