After a few years at the BBC and a few months at Deloitte I've decided to pivot to software development. I've gone from Musician - Sound Engineer - Studio Manager - Broadcast Operative - Technical Operative - Cloud Services - student again. Currently learning Spring, C# and padding out my Java skills but have also dabbled in SQL, Javascript, JQuery, Php, Python and the usual HTML & CSS. Cloud Service Desk Analyst

Cloud Services Analyst responsible for triaging, prioritising and elevating client service requests and incidents as well as liaising with third party vendors on clients behalf. Writing training guides for new staff. Member of the Problem Review Board. During my short time at Deloitte I became ITIL level 4 Foundation and AWS Cloud Practitioner certified. Absolutely wonderful group to work for but was offered the opportunity to study an MSc in Software Development and couldn't pass up the chance.

Technical Operator

Most of time working at BBCNI was spent acting up as either a Senior Hub Operations Engineer or as a Vision Engineer. I was also afforded a two week shadowing period in the Software Development team which has fuelled my change in career. Hub Operations included helping to train new staff. Ingest/export of multiple media types, sometimes under high pressure for news broadcast deadlines. Co-ordinating circuit bookings and live guest sources for programmes. General problem solving and maintenance. Live backup media play-out for material during numerous programs such as Newsline, The View, Final Score and others. As a Vision Engineer I was responsible for rigging equipment for studio and outside broadcasts, racking multiple cameras for programmes such as Newsline, Sunday Politics, The View, Nolan, Ulster Rugby matches, GAA matches and others.
