Apr 2002 - Feb 2003
Answer incoming 911 calls and direct them to the correct jurisdictional radio operator. I started as a call taker, which is common, then moved on to the FSP (Freeway Service Patrol) radio channel. FSP were personnel contracted by the CHP to keep traffic moving during peak hours. They provided assistance to drivers of disabled vehicles helping them out of the lanes of traffic & ultimately off the freeway for more permanent repairs. I had to leave just before I was able to reach the Patrol area radios.
