In this capacity, I managed relationships with funders, partners, and other key stakeholders to ensure that we were delivering as per the agreed upon KPIs as well as reported back any significant changes from the field. Additionally, I also actively explored different partnerships (funding and knowledge) that would further benefit the SEWA mission and portfolio. Further, I developed the programmatic strategy for SEWA Bharat's youth and skills programs as well as set particular quality parameters in order to support further scalability of the programs. • Built and managed partnerships with international partners/donors & government officials • Produced reporting for key funders on project and programmatic progress on a regular basis • Designed strategy for SEWA Bharat female-only Skill & Youth Programmes across 3 states • Analyzed organizational processes and created strategy to improve efficiency and increase impact for target audience of female beneficiaries across SEWA • Managed core communications across multiple channels including social media, concept notes, funding proposals, etc. • Managed implementation and deliverables of female-only SEWA Bharat Youth & Skill Centers across 3 states in India • Managed team of 30 staff members across the country • Advocated gender-friendly vocational educational program to relevant stakeholders (Government and International Orgs) SEWA Bharat is part of the national SEWA movement. Established in 1984, it is a national federation of SEWA organizations of women working in the informal economy. SEWA Bharat emerged out of the need to address the SEWA movement’s challenges with geographical expansion and coordination. SEWA Bharat is comprised of a family of SEWA organizations to further informal women workers’ rights, livelihoods, financial independence, education, health and social security. Show less

I was partnered with Chhoti Si Asha, an grassroots organization focused on women's empowerment and livelihoods in Chandigarh, India. Initially, the project focused on creating market linkages for the "Stitch-a-Living Program" but soon grew to include managing operations and diversifying programs. As I was living in the slum community that I was working in, I realized that many children were going to school but not necessarily learning. Therefore, in collaboration with the community, I started the Janta Colony Library and Learning Centre with the goal of getting young people access to books, creative pedagogy, and learning opportunities. During my time as an Indicorps fellow, I focused on scaling both the education and livelihood projects to reach more community members. Stitch-a-Living Program – Women’s Empowerment Program • Led the Stitch-a-Living Program to turn a profit for the first time in its six-year history through a successful marketing strategy and cost-saving analysis. • Increased average income of beneficiary group from Rs. 500/month to Rs. 8000/month through improving operational processes and increasing local demand for products. • Managed all aspects of the organization including human resources, work intake and distribution, raw material acquisition, quality control and finances. Janta Colony Library and Educational Center • Founded the Janta Colony Library and Educational Center in the urban slum community, Janta Colony. • Designed and executed curricula, organized events and programming for the beneficiaries. • Managed accounts, donor relations and reporting of the project. • Established indicators to assess impact of program to students Indicorps is a non-profit organization working on grassroots and leadership development through the form of 1 - 2 year Fellowships.Fellows are paired with a community based organization to work on projects covering a variety of development themes.
