  As a community service Audiologist I am responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with hearing loss and other auditory pathologies, performed in close collaboration with ENT specialists and working in a multidisciplinary team. Providing intervention services through the provision of assistive listening devices which include, digital hearing aids, FM systems, and bone conductor hearing aids, which are recommended, fitted, verified, and troubleshot, if needed. Neurophysiological assessments of children, adults, and other populations that are difficult to test. In addition to the latter, referring potential candidates for a cochlear implant at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital. For the early hearing detection and intervention services (EHDI), neonatal hearing screening are provided in the maternity wards and at high risk wards.
