  SPS is a company supporting the development of Africa by providing cost effective solutions and services to the mining, minerals, metals and related industries and their communities. These goals can be met by our commitment to produce cost effective manufacturing and services solutions locally and transferring skills to the community. The SPS portfolio includes: • Engineering and design • Manufacturing of equipment and technology • Refurbishment of existing equipment and plant • On-site installation • Maintenance services, including remote condition monitoring and support • Source and Supply of various components through our vast global network SPS was incorporated in 2010 as a specialised service and support company for mostly the Ferrochrome producers in South Africa. Due to the success of this business, it was acquired by a multi-national company wanting to increase their service footprint in South Africa, in 2015. Being incorporated in a multi-national company has its advantages and disadvantages, with one of the most significant disadvantages being sufficiently agile to support customer needs quickly. With experienced gained as a private company and being part of a multi-national organisation, the major stakeholders in SPS as a private entity developed a model to provide agile support its customers, while forming strong relationships with multinational companies for providing technology support to customers. A partnership model, which will ensure the customer is best served by having “the best of both worlds” available within a single service provider.
