Project management involved operational and logistic responsibilities (e.g. cargo, travel, accommodation, purchase orders, security, visas, IT, wireless network), administration (payroll, budgetary management, financial and narrative reporting to World Vision and AID4 board of directors in Australia, recruitment and selection of international and national staff). Program management involved a strong advisory role in development of project strategy and planning of project via the Board of Directors. Leadership and organisation of staff meetings. School administration duties such as student enrolment, timetabling of teaching staff and lessons. Design and facilitation of team workshop to determine action plan to achieve strategic goals. Participatory meetings with local community leaders and community members of IDP camp to establish collaborative working sensitive to local culture. Networking and partnership with other international and local NGO’s (e.g. Oxfam, ChildFund, Mercy Corps, ACTED, UNORC) for supporting resource development. Collaboration with UN agencies, participation in co-ordination meetings. During absence of Country Director, acted as Chief Operations Manager in charge of all project and program activities, via the Board of Directors in Australia. (November 2005 to January 2006) This position required strong management skills in a variety of disciplines, flexibility, organisation and planning skills.

Firsthand experience with the challenges that the College, community and basic schools faced (e.g. consequences of lack of funding and resources) cross cutting themes such as HIV/ AIDS and impact on teaching staff and students, gender inequality in child education and the need for poverty relief and capacity building.

Consultancy for an insurance company, developing and implementing a competency based format of assessing employees within their IT department (200 people). This position involved decision-making at operational, tactical and strategic management level.
