The research work mainly comprised of synthesis and characterization of new multimetallic complexes supported by organic ligands. The main aspects of the research work carried out are as follows: 1. Synthesis of organic ligand systems and their characterization. 2. Synthesis of heterometallic polynuclear complexes and standardization of the various synthetic pathways. Determination of structure of the metal complexes by means of Single Crystal X–Ray Diffraction. 3. Characterization of the synthesized complexes by means of FTIR, UV-Vis, PXRD, ESI–MS, etc. Determination of aggregation pathways leading to the formation of these polynuclear complexes through detailed HRMS analysis. Studying of catalytic activity of these complexes like photocatalytic water oxidation and catechol oxidase like activity. 4. Studying of the magnetic properties of the synthesized complexes by SQUID measurements. Theoretical calculation to get an insight into the origin of the various properties shown by the complexes.
