Leading and managing a Women’s only team, designed to support female service users only and adopting a style of working whilst providing an effective service that was tailored to the needs of our service users. I had a range of ideas in relation to the continual improvement of our service and once my plans were seen by higher management, I was given the opportunity of putting those ideas into practice and developed one of the most successful Women's team within the London Probation Service (LPT), with a allocated female only reporting day, that gave female service users the opportunity of reporting to my team members in a safe and secure environment. I initiated contact with various other local agencies who attend our women's only day to work with and support our female only service users. As such my example of what good looks like was subsequently implemented in other areas of LPT. Due to my ability to lead and manage my team to maximise performance and quality against targets, I was commended on exceeding in performance within the team with reports of green lights in all areas. To achieve this I rely heavily on inputting performance deadline targets in advance into my diary which allows me to complete scheduled work before its deadline it also allows consideration to be made when any emergencies should arise during that period. In 2013 I was asked to take part in an event called the International World Congress. This event involved a number of agencies within the Criminal Justice System from all over the world travelling to London to part take in a three day event organised by LPT. The purpose of the event was to advertise and promote the work currently being undertaken by LPT within a Criminal Justice framework. Before the event I was asked to host and deliver a presentation delivering the work that I had developed and undertook with female service users, and highlight the notion of "what works" for female offenders within the Criminal Justice system.
