Managed the EU/German Government funded project, "Towards Cleaner & Sustainable Energy in Warraq", implemented and co-financed by Sawiris Foundation for Environmental Development, and coordinated by Participatory Development Programme in Urban Areas (PDP) in collaboration with Deutsche Gessellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The Project aims at: promoting renewable energy and environmental awareness in Warraq area, to improve the environmental conditions in public spaces, reduce carbon emission, build institutional capacities of local NGOs, train youth on green skills, and raise awareness on environmental and energy conservation. Project Manager’s responsibilities include (but not limited to): managing project activities in line with the action plan and projects timeline; monitoring project performance against set indicators; setting up internal operating procedures; supervising a four-member staff; maintaining effective communication with project’s counterparts through providing regular updates on project’s progress; networking with targeted beneficiaries, including governmental bodies, local NGOs, and community members; preparing progress reports, indicating challenges faced, and providing recommendations for continuous improvements of project performance. As a Project Manager: successfully managed to overcome challenges faced during project’s startup phase; built sound business relations with counterparts and stakeholders; maintained strong networks with beneficiaries; improved project’s overall performance; and gained trust of all involved parties in project’s foreseeable results.
