Worked on the Toxic Substances Hydrology Program, specifically the Bemidji Crude-Oil Research Project. Traveled to Bemidji, MN to assist in fieldwork there by processing core samples, inoculating media for Most Probable Number analyses, and running field parameters. In the lab, I prepared media and grew anaerobic and aerobic microbes and assembled microcosms for Benzene degradation by microbial activity. Enumerated microorganisms using MPN technique, often having to employ the use of a Gas… Show more Worked on the Toxic Substances Hydrology Program, specifically the Bemidji Crude-Oil Research Project. In the lab, I prepared media and grew anaerobic and aerobic microbes and assembled microcosms for Benzene degradation by microbial activity. Enumerated microorganisms using MPN technique, often having to employ the use of a Gas Chromatographer. I can perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs. I am proficient in Surfer mapping software, Word, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Studio 3, and Excel to organize data. I have an operational understanding of drawing programs such as Photoshop and Gimp as well as GIS mapping programs (ArcMap and GeoMedia). I am currently working on the publication of a paper entitled Fate and Transport of Petroleum Hydrocarbons in Groundwater Cass Lake, Minnesota.
