Developed and maintained desktop and web-based clinical databases for Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and the International Center for Health Outcomes and Innovation Research (InCHOIR). Projects included: • Designed and developed reporting tools in JAVA with a Postgres database backend. Integrated users’ login to their Windows login (Kerberos) to access de-identified medical statistics. Automated the transfer of data in a HIPAA-compliant environment. • Designed and developed several research databases in MS Access. The databases include detailed data entry screens, report generators, and HIPPA-compliant automated imports from existing hospital databases to minimize data entry. • Designed and built a Linux-based server for receiving clinical trials documents which can be retrieved via a secure web interface in a HIPAA-compliant environment • Development activities also include the production of data entry forms and data validation modules in JAVA. System administration duties include the maintenance of several Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers in an Active Directory environment, Microsoft Exchange servers, Linux servers, and Linux firewalls.
