Consulting Kiewit Shea Desalination (KSD) for the construction and commissioning of the largest desalination plant in western hemisphere. The Carlsbad Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) Desalination plant is capable of producing up to 54 MGD. Responsible for composing the Carlsbad Desalination Plant (CDP) maintenance manual and chemical handling/spill procedures for the required permits by the (San Diego County Water Authority) SDCWA, (Environmental Protection Agency) EPA according to the national, state, CDPH and AWWA standards and regulations. Responsible for organizing and implementing training of Health & Safety procedures, operations, and maintenance for the CDP’s O&M team. Developed Tagout/Lockout procedures and chemical response procedures. Responsible for creating a highly efficient and effective Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PPM) Program to guarantee continued operation, produce an exceptional water quality and an environmental friendly product. The PPM monitors and analyzes all plant equipment performance including: mechanical & electrical equipment, instruments, filters/membranes, workshop, warehouse and spare parts. The CDP's staff performs most of the routine maintenance duties and repairs in-house.
