While at this post I have progressed from an IT assistant to a support engineer. I have been on site at Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) for just 1 year. During my first few months with the company I gained experience on ships, Vessel (Ship) IT, solving technical problems on-board MOLTANK vessels. Dealing with various issues, such as Viruses, Windows 7 Rollout, repair/replace hardware and various software issues. I have efficiently grasped a strong understanding on how to support all 191 users up to a 2nd line level in a helpdesk environment. I work alongside 1st line and 3rd line engineers and this has broadened my IT knowledge. My main tasks include: speaking with 3rd party support teams to resolve software or hardware issues, conducting I.T. training, administering the daily backups and maintaining the internal network. The management of my time during the working day is pivotal due to the constant tide of logged incidents. In our newly implemented helpdesk system, Top Desk, I close on average 20 incidents a day. The projects that have provided me with the most satisfaction include: The Office Move, I have been responsible for the installation of several items during the office move. I have been involved in this since early December. Other projects I have been involved in are Windows upgrades and Airwatch Removal. Show less
