      PhD: An Investigation of the Effect of CO2 Sequestration on the Behaviour of Brown Coal  Undertaking laboratory testing of brown coal samples gathered from Latrobe Valley open cut mine, conducting Laboratory tests and using highly advanced systems like Acoustic Emission (AE) and ARAMIS; reviewing, analysing and controlling the quality of laboratory test result.  Engineering modelling and analysis using COMET and COMSOL Multiphysics of given civil engineering problems, especially gas flow within coal.  Ensuring laboratory and sampling operations were carried out according to the applicable testing standards and that the instruments were regularly calibrated.  Preparing experimental procedures for the High Pressure Multiphase test chamber; ensuring all written procedures were available and updated for laboratory tests and field works prior to the work being completed.  Directing five undergraduate students’ research and supervising their thesis; teaching undergraduate classes, supervising experiments and marking assignments.  Operating in the capacity of Geomechanics Group Convener; organised group meetings, discussions, presentations, extracurricular activities; etc.  Managing allocated finances when ordering instruments for the development of the High Pressure Multiphase test setup.  Published six journal papers and four conference papers during PhD candidature
