The purpose of this project was to design an automated system for handling a radioactive material using a Universal Robots model UR3e robot arm equipped with a gripper and wrist camera. The outcome from this project was that Fermilab could improve safety by reducing human interaction with radioactive material, save time by having an automated system that does not require specialized personnel and reduce cost by getting more use out of the material.
