Development and validation of quantitative methods for the non-destructive quantitative analysis of drugs, using spectroscopic techniques (Raman, NIR) and multivariate statistical tools such as Principal Components Analysis (PCA) and Partial Least Squares Regression (PLSR). Beside spectroscopic methods, I have experience in traditional destructive methods that use HPLC instrumentation or spectrophotometry. Knowledge in Quality by Design, Process Analytical Technology (PAT), ICH Guidelines, GMP. In addition to the quantitative pharmaceutical analysis, I did some works related to the effect of the physical properties of the samples on Raman spectra (mainly particle size), as well as in Theory of Sampling. To take into account the possibility of subsampling issues when spectroscopic techniques such as Raman spectroscopy are used is quite important, as in most of applications there is some "limitation" regarding the laser spot size. At the end it must be verified that we have a representative sample of the material under study, after recording one or more spectra of it. Show less

Chemical and toxicological assessment of the dossiers submitted for the registration of agrochemicals in Costa Rica (technical grade active ingredients and end formulations). Evaluation of pesticide residues trials for the approval of new uses of end products already registered for other uses. Preparation of technical reports prior to possible modifications on the registration processes currently valid, based on the study of the latest considerations followed by EPA and EU (modifications both to the national and central-american normatives).
