  Assigned to the Drilling and Concreting/Grouting section, Decline dept. Train locals in the safe operations of the AMV rod handling Jumbo and the AMV grouting pump. We drill blastholes for production purposes but mainly focused on drilling Longholes for Grouting purposes. Holes are drilled 24 - 40 meter by 21 holes and then packers are installed. Grouting hoses are connected to the packers and then grout is pumped and injected into the drilled holes. Main purpose is to stabilise the loose ground and fractured rocks and also seal the water sippages. A couple of hours of curing and blasting activity can be done.   Assisted the shaft sinkers in the drilling and blasting activity until finished. Operated the robodrill machine at wanchai site. We drilled blastholes and boltholes and charge and blast after drilling. Drilled boltholes and installed rockbolts to support the tunnel roofs and walls. Shotcrete is applied to strengthen and support loose rocks from falling. At the kennedy town site, we used Atlas copco and sandvik Jumbos fro drilling. Swellex bolts are used as rockbolts and the system of blasting is NONEL TYPE OF BLASTING. Show less

  Assigned to drive 3 diversion tunnels 1,5 kilometers each tunnel by drilling and blasting method. The tunnels are used to divert water from the omo river to the diversion tunnels fro hydro purposes. Rockbolts and shotcrete are applied to support the tunnels and concrete lining to finish the tunnels. The floor is cleaned and concreted and the rails are installed to set up the mechanical forms. Reinforcing bars are installed around the mechanical form to support the concrete. grouting pipes are connected to the form for pouring concrete/ the mechanical form is then shuttered and is ready for pouring concrete.   Excavated a twin Horizontal shaft 12 mtrs. width by 190 meters deep at the Kwontung site. We used sinker machines to drill the holes and used nonels in blasting.Grouted bolts and shotcrete are applied to support the shaft walls. A movable gantry crane is used to haul the blasted materials at the bottom to the top by pulling down and up the skip that is being loaded by the excavator down the shaft floor.
