  Capacity Building Committee (CBC) of Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC) has identified the need for mentoring representatives of member accreditation bodies to develop their competencies in relation to developing, maintaining and extending their scope of accreditation activities through a close mentoring by an experienced expert. The CBC of APAC organized this small group mentoring programme in association with the APAC/SANAP project. Mentoring of representatives from different accreditation bodies on accreditation of management system certification bodies as per ISO/IEC 17021-1. In this process as experienced individual, mentor helps small group as well as individuals to develop their goals and skills through a series of time-limited, confidential, one-on-one conversations and other learning activities remotely. Results Developed the knowledge and capabilities of implementation of ISO/IEC 17011, ISO/IEC 17021-1, ISO/IEC 17021-2,3,6 10 and relevant IAF/APAC requirements for Management system certification. Developed documents required for the implementation of the above requirements ( Ex. Development of a new work proposal for the establishment of a new accreditation scheme for the management system certification scheme. Improved capabilities of application of IAF MD documents related to Accreditation Bodies and Certification bodies with practical examples. Discussed and reviewed uncleared areas of implementation/documentation of accreditation scheme requirements individually and make them clear. Mentor shared important documents as draft version to encourage the mentees to develop their documents. Introduced newly introduced management system standards such as ISO 50001:Energy Management Systems, ISO 21001: Educational Management Systems, ISO 45001: Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems, ISO 13485: Medical Devices, ISO 39001:Road Traffic Safety Management systems etc and created awareness on potential accreditation schemes.
