At NewVIc I teach both Mechanical Engineering and Product Design. In Mechanical Engineering I teach basic mechanical principle and further mechanical principles. These topics include thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, dynamic principles and other topics. I also teach the application of mechanical systems in everyday life as well as looking at the make up of materials used in engineering and ways of testing these materials. In Product Design I am in charge of delivering the course. On the course we look at products in general, their strengths and weaknesses, the moral/social issues involved in developing a product, how to draft a design process and implement it and the manufacturing processes associated with production of these products. At the moment we are looking at designing a new style of underground carriage and coming up with a prototype for it. Show less
