Diane is an excellent project manager with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple projects at once. I had the pleasure of working with Diane for 2 years in a scientific laboratory at York University. During this time, I witnessed Diane’s ability to actively take on a leadership role in coordinating large projects, managing teams of students and researchers, and keeping everyone on task to ensure a timely completion. Diane was easy to work with, valued other people’s opinions and was willing to work with others to make the best use of resources. Her positive attitude is contagious and encourages everyone on her team to bring out their personal best. It is my professional and personal assessment that Diane would be an excellent addition to any team as she is a hard-working individual who takes great care and responsibility for all of her tasks.

Having worked closely with Diane for almost 3 years I always appreciated how Diane would present her teammates with a clear vision of what and how she wanted all elements of a project to be completed. She takes an individualized approached to each team member, taking time to get a detailed understanding of what their strengths and weakness are. With this information and her keen organizational eye, Diane would distribute different tasks that allowed me to develop my weakness by working with those who were stronger than I, all the while delegating portions of the project to me that allowed me to showcase my talents. I always observed Diane closely when she would take myself or any other team member aside to discuss their progress or to give/receive feedback. Diane is a well-spoken, considerate and intelligent communicator. She is so accomplished in her communication due to her high degree of emotional intelligence as Diane always looks to understand the person within each of her teammates and colleagues, going beyond superficial small talk and connecting with the side of us trying to improve and develop. Lastly, Diane understands how to manage those she reports to, providing transparency, honesty and clarity. When working with other teammates Diane looks to share her own experiences regarding a matter as opposed to dictating what should be done. She allowed me and those around us to learn by sharing details of her own experiences/mistakes while relating back to ours. I wholeheartedly believe the Diane will be a significant asset to any environment. I hope that I can work alongside her again one day.
