Today so many of our friends, loved one and the community we are a part of suffer from poor nutrition and a total separation from where our food comes from. Our permaculture farm is more than just a few goats, chickens and plants, we welcome people of all ages to visit, participate, and learn. Our goal as a family is to bring thanks to our creator for the gifts we have been bestowed and to share with our community the fruits of our efforts. After working for many years backstage and often at night, my love of the sun, rain, and all things that grow sent me to the west coast in hopes of going from an entertainment designer to a garden designer. In so many ways the two correspond, both require knowledge of materials, getting dirty, working long hours ... the benefit of gardening is that you don't have to tear it down the following day. As my knowledge of the growing world increases, my desire to create gardens in harmony with the climate increases. The use of drought tolerant, food or medicinal producing planting, water conservation, natural predators and homeopathic solutions are the key to a greener tomorrow. With my work the importance of family also arises, my daughter born in 2008 comes with me to work and is an integral part of the business. I carried her on my back till she could walk, now she practices gardening alongside me when she is not socializing with people in the neighborhood, or petting someone cat or dog. She counts flowers, names the animals she sees, and is continuously learning about the world around her through active participation. Something all children should have. Show less
