I currently work with Diane in San Carlos School District, specifically in the Early Learning Center/Preschool Program. Diane has been a strong mentor to me since I joined the SCSD 18 months ago. She provides a warm and supportive environment to her young students. Diane is able to tap into her children’s curiosities and interests. She is continually thinking of creative ways to stretch the children’s imaginations, through art projects, building materials, music, and literature. She adapts her curriculum to meet the individual needs of her students and uses available resources wisely. Diane is also a supportive, positive leader among her colleagues. She shares her ideas, offers suggestions, and provides encouragement along the way. She is open to suggestions and collaborates with others to create a stimulating learning environment for the children. I met Diane almost 15 years ago when I was a co-leader with her for our daughter’s Girl Scout troop. I knew then, that she was enthusiastic, giving, and organized. She cares about children and about helping them find happiness and success in whatever they take on.
