As a scribe I would prepare patients’ charts by taking pain history of the patient and reporting back to physician/NP/PA with the information gathered. I would document patient’s physical examination, ordered procedures, and other pertaining information in the disposition of the office visit note. I would Give patients’ next month’s appointment and handle any imaging, and referral orders requested by doctor/NP/ PA. I also direct patient to appropriate facilities where ordered diagnostic tests can be performed. I requested authorization for ordered procedures including cervical/thoracic/lumbar epidural injections, IT pump implants, radiofrequency ablation procedures and many more. This also includes requesting authorization for diagnostic tests like MRI’s and CT’s as well referrals to specialists. I would perform vitals on patients and make sure they understand what they meant. I helped 30-100 patients a day depending on the day of the week and my job assignment. Show less
