I am responsibile for the training of new associates. I work alongside my new teammates the first 30 to 60 days in getting to know all the policies and procedures and prepare them to become a knowledgable member of our team. In addition to training others, I am often responsible for opening and closing the store, preparing the daily sales reports, and preparing daily break schedules and safety sweeps ( daily"sweeps" that involve the prevention of potential hazards to employees and customers inside the store). Because I often work with knowledge that involves the store's daily goals I must work with computers in translating these into statistics and graphs. I have become knowledgable with excel, power point, and naturally the POS system we use for our registers. I am additionally responsible for the inventory of this store and must enter it into the sysyem every week along with the store's daily donation log. In addition to all this, I prepare any paperwork or complete any task that is assigned to me by the assistant mgr or manager. Show less

While this position was interesting at first, it did not give me the satisfaction I desired. Too much greed was evident in the company's nature despite the fact that they continually insisted they were generating products people needed. While I agree that a good life insuranece is needed (term is the only good life insurance really), I feel like too much emphasis is placed on this sole product...rather it should be noted that if an individual could generate enough income by themselves, they would not require life insurance(and if I could teach people to this, I'd feel really great!) Their program was interesting, but they should mention the fact that for this position a car is required as well as an ideal minimum of 25 contacts to start your life insurance buisness quickly.Neither of which I have. It is not a job you could replace your day job with either. The training provided for this company is minimal if non-existant. I felt wholly unprepaired when it came to the nature of what it was I was meant to do. The way the system was set up, made me feel like this was a pyramid scam of some sort or another. I did not feel like I was helping anyone--not my company, not potential customers, not myself. This is why I left, because I felt like I was wasting everyone's time, especially my own. Show less
