Marketing and Communications Lead
-
Oct 2018 - May 2022
I was responsible for all the marketing and communications for the community and advocacy side of the organisation. I developed strategies, made videos, ran interviews, and created endless content for online, print, and social platforms. While at the Trust, I increased website traffic by 40%, social presence by 110%, and email click-through rates by 35%. I also managed the website, mainly because I rebuilt it. Head of Marketing and Communications - Festival for the Future
-
May 2018 - Aug 2018
This was an unexpectedly challenging, yet surprisingly fun three-month contract. What started as me being the marketing department swiftly changed to me leading the marketing department. I ran an army of bright-eyed interns who completely decimated my fear of managing people. We recruited over 1,300 inspired young adults to attend Festival For the Future in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Working for the Oxfam Trailwalker team allowed me to merge my interest in human behaviour with data-driven communication. My sole role was to generate leads and then talk those leads into raising money and walking 50km or 100km through the night. What did I learn? How to adapt when nothing goes according to plan. I have played several different roles within Strategy and Governance. My substantive role involves performance monitoring and writing, but I also like to dabble in different worlds such as: Crown entities, Select Committees, award nominations, and event co-ordination. I have strong working relationships with individuals with varying levels of responsibility from all across the Ministry.

I have recently completed my secondment to the Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs. During my time there, I developed a monitoring and evaluation framework for the Ministry to monitor and report on the delivery and impact of key initiatives on Pacific peoples. This framework will form part of the training programme the Ministry will use when helping other agencies develop policies for Pacific people.
