  • Bestday
    • Playa del Carmen, Q.Roo. mexico
    • Coordinator
      • Dec 2010 - Jul 2012

I started out in the company as an Associate Assistant. I would assist in personnel sales, applying discounts, selling tours, supplying other companies with competitive rates, making and confirming schedules, picking up guests, and sometimes even direct relations with hotel guests. 6 months later I became Coordinator for the Department of Special Projects, and part of the managing team at Best Day Playa Del Carmen. My main duties were doing spread sheets, obtaining sales percentages, goal sheets, putting together gross incomes for not only the hotels but for each associate as well. I was also in charge of running payroll every week and I was responsible for the managing of the three main company accounts; Pleasant Holidays, Vacation Express and Journeys (before Distinguished Resorts). Last but not least, I was also accountable for any Customer Service issues. Show less

  • Hotel Hacienda 3 Rios

    • Hostess-cashier
      • Dec 2009 - Nov 2010

As Hostess, my duties where to greet and receive in our guests in the restaurant, ensuring they were being seated at a well mounted and clean table, and ensuring their experience had been enjoyable when walking out. I also supervised the serving staff and ensured they were treating customers with respect and providing outstanding service. I worked at all the different restaurant locations in the hotel. In times when the traffic of people was significant, I would also serve and even be a busser at times. After closing, I would help in the kitchen as a dishwasher and would leave the restaurant presentable for the morning shift. During my year there, I learned a lot about the demands and standards of the restaurant business. It is very interesting to learn the functioning of a place inside and out. As Cashier, I was entitled to receive and gather all the bills from the guests’ tables, and ensuring they were received by the front desk in other for the guest rooms to be billed. • Consumer Services
    • 400 - 500 Employee
    • Shift Supervisor
      • Jun 2008 - Sep 2009

As supervisor, I played the role as manager while the store manager was not on shift. I managed the staff in a professional manner to ensure that all the assignments, daily tasks, and monthly goals where achieved. I also managed restocking, I made all the product orders in a timely manner, and ensured inventory was always up to date. Besides my duties as a supervisor, I was in charge of preparing drinks to order and customer service. I learned a lot about the food industry working at this company. I learned how to manage machinery, as well as how to prepare custom and diverse drinks. I also learned a lot about food pairing, coffee tastings, and the vast countries our coffees came from. Lastly and most importantly, I learned to assess clients needs individually to ensure the quality of my customer service skills. I was promoted from Barista to Shift manager after only three months of working with the company. As a Shift Manager, I gained vast experience in personal training, administration, and general managing skills. I resigned from my position at Starbuck Co. because I was offered a job that gave me the experience I needed for my career. I left the company, but I took with me a vast variety of new skills. Becoming a manager at 19 years old was a great accomplishment for me. Not only did I work full time, but I also was a full time student always giving 100% to both. This job made me grow as a person and gave me the skills and confidence to succeed in anything that comes my way. Show less
